Welcome two new directors

Highlands Summer Festival hosted a successful Annual General Meeting on April 22 at the Rails End Gallery and Arts Centre in Haliburton. In addition to the usual AGM business two new directors were elected to the board. I am pleased to welcome Karen Frybort and Sean Pennylegion to the directors’ table.

Karen has performed on a number of occasions for the Festival and is a singer with a number of Jazz groups in the community, including the popular Jazz Kitchen. Karen is also well-known as the manager of McKeck’s Tap and Grill, a popular eatery with the theatre crowd.

Sean is musician, and folk music performer. Just this spring he took his first steps onto the dramatic stage with a role in the Highlands Little Theatre’s production of You Can’t Take it With You. He is also the recently retired producer of the Forest Festival the annual  series of musical concerts held at the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Cente in August.

Welcome to both new directors.

The Festival also said adieu to director Paul Heffer, who stepped down after seven years on the board. His contributions over the year were greatly appreciated.
